"It's silly season."
- Barack Obama
The
mess the Democratic Party is in has nothing to do with Hillary Clinton.
It’s about the liberal-wing-nuts, renamed the progressives, vying to
take control of the party and the country.
The man voted the most
liberal senator in 2007 in National Journal’s 27th
Annual Vote Ratings, Barack Obama, is the left-wing’s boy-toy candidate.
The party that never learns is banking their victory on Barack Obama.
His supporters are Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry and a whole
bunch of others who lean so far left you might call them The Scoliosis
Bunch.
How long this
left-wing-nut coup of the party has been in the works is anybody’s
guess. Likely it began when Bill Clinton became president and brought
the party to the center in order to get the Democrats elected, the right
thing to do. Ted Kennedy wasn’t a happy camper once Bill started making
deals with the guys on the right side of the aisle, which left him out,
well, in left field.
In 2000, the left-wing-nuts ran Albert Arnold Gore, Jr. He ran to the left and rightfully
lost, although his loss will forever be in dispute because of problems
in Florida that the right-wing Supreme Court of the United States didn’t
think existed.
In 2004, the party ran
lefty-loose-mouth John Forbes Kerry. He lost, too, partly because he
sailed too far to the left. Almost as if to prove his left-wing
credentials, Kerry posed for a ridiculous windsurfing picture
symbolically showing him tacking left. He lost to President right-wing
George W. Bush.
Where in the last two
election cycles the left-wing press fell for the right-wing’s candidate,
this time they are left-banking on Barack Obama. Mortified by their
right-leaning endorsement of George Tush, who some believe will go down,
rightfully, as the worst American President in history, the press is
determined to get it right this time. In fact, if it were left up to the
press, Hillary Clinton would be out of this race right now before Obama
makes some horrible mistake and blows his coronation.
The left are so enamored with their candidate that they are willing to
overlook Obama’s Wright problem even though that might not be the right
thing to do for the party in the general election where Obama would be
facing the not-exactly-right-wing-candidate, John McCain, the war hero
with the right stuff, who the self-righteous left-wingers are certain
they can beat with their lefty Obama.
They’d better be sure
they’re right before they toss Hillary Clinton to the wind.
Here’s something else
that’s not right. The guys over in Boy’s Town, Camp Barack Obama, are
willing to ignore the residents of Florida and Michigan and their right
to vote. Why? Because while Obama and the press keep telling everyone
Obama is ahead in this contest, Barack Obama can no more get to the 2025
delegate count needed to secure the nomination than Hillary Clinton can.
Obama’s argument for the
superdelegates that will be left to ultimately make the choice is that
he is ahead because he won more states (doesn’t matter), he’s ahead in
the delegate count by 125 (125 is not 2025), and that he stands to win
the popular vote, which doesn’t matter for anything other than his
argument’s sake.
But if Michigan and
Florida, strongholds for Hillary Clinton get to vote, Hillary might
actually have more of the popular vote and be within single digits on
the delegate count, which would thwart Obama's. argument and prove that
she is the stronger candidate having taken the right states the Dems
need to win in the general election.
Still, the left-wingers
of the party that calls itself Democratic are willing to forgo doing the
right thing in order to get their candidate nominated, and are plotting
with the goal that Senator Clinton be left out in the cold, which might
backfire if the strong right-arm tactics to oust her continues, pushing
Clinton to the center of it all -- exactly where Bill Clinton won.
