TIPTOEING THROUGH THE ROSE GARDEN

Move over Osama Bin Laden (used as satire, which Obama doesn't understand). We have a new terrorist on the block and his name is Barack Bin Obama, the Democratic Party’s presumptive presidential nominee, the first African-American to possibly become the president of the United States.

Should Barack Bin Obama attain his goal, America will be tiptoeing through the tulips in America’s rose garden around President Obama afraid of holding America’s leader accountable for his actions in fear of being called racist.

The Fourth Estate, whose job it is to explore, question, mine, and hold accountable its political leaders has long been under siege by the presidential candidate. Dare to question; risk a reputation. Dare to poke fun at; risk a reputation. Dare to report truth; risk a reputation.

All who question the candidate Barack Hussein Obama risk being branded racist. And, as a result, only a few dare to confront because if what is said or how it’s said doesn’t suit Barack Obama, Barack Obama will tar and feather his offenders through his Merry band of men and women, his able surrogates who will deftly play the race card whenever they think it suits Obama's candidacy.

The trail of Obama hostages grows longer every day.

First there was Bill Clinton, and, of course, Hillary Clinton. Let’s not forget Geraldine Ferraro. But at least Barack Obama is an equal opportunity terrorist. Just ask Representative John Lewis, an African-American, once an ardent Hillary Clinton backer, threatened by his very own if he didn’t fall in line with the Great and Wondrous Barack Obama. One of the low points of the primary season was watching the hero of the Civil Rights Movement capitulate under the threat of Barack Hussein Obama or lose his long-held Congressional seat.

The latest victims of the Obama siege are cartoonist Barry Blitt and The New Yorker magazine that noble institution of American political satire.

When Osama Bin Laden flew those planes into the twin towers of the World Trade Center, investigative reporters, the Pentagon, the CIA, and every other spy agency in America moved into high-gear to uncover how such a thing could have happened.

But no one is investigating the assault on America’s fourth estate by Barack Obama or Obama’s terrorist attacks on his other victims including a former President of the United States.

Let me help out America’s terrorism task force.

Let’s look at what happened since the publication of The New Yorker piece as example of how Osama Bin Obama takes his hostages.

First, someone dares to stand up to Barack Obama, if not at least point out a few of the candidate’s flaws, or in the case of The New Yorker, poke fun at the candidates foibles.

Initially, when asked about the controversial cover, Obama refuses to comment on it. But as he has done in the past, he has his team respond to the considered affront. Obama’s merry pressman Bill Burton issues a statement deriding, in this case, the aforementioned art.

The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Sen. Obama's right-wing critics have tried to create. But most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree."

Bombs away!

Within minutes the press is typing away at their trusty keyboards, and Barack Bin Osama’s lackeys’ in the left wing of the blogosphere are jumping on the bandwagon. The outrage is palpable. Together in unison the song is sung. How dare The New Yorker play the race card!

The twenty-four hour news cycle is now under siege and while one of the largest banks in America collapses, 40 innocent human beings lives are blown to smithereens in Iraq, and Americans are breaking open piggy banks to find the money to pay for a tank of gas, Obama’s manipulating all with his feigned outrage, using the color of his skin once again as the way for him to get elected president.

Just when the attention deficit disordered media is moving to the next subject, Obama the victim, makes an appearance, or offers a presser where he will, after having held the media hostage for twenty-four hours, set them free with a new story, and an offer of a noble gesture.

On Larry King Live, just in time to allow reporters to put to bed their stories for the next news cycles and in apposition to his surrogates’ statement, Barack Bin Obama the magnanimous, finally commented on The New Yorker cover first saying that he’s developed “a pretty thick skin” running for president and has “seen and heard worse.”

Isn’t he wonderful?

He goes on.

“I do think that, you know, in attempting to satirize something, they probably fueled some misconceptions about me instead,” he said. “But, you know, that was their editorial judgment. And as I said, ultimately, it’s a cartoon; it’s not where the American people are spending a lot of their time thinking about.”

There’s a pattern here, folks.

American’s have become prisoners to a candidate who will use any means open to him to attain the presidency of the United States, including playing on American’s worst fears and guilt.

The United States has been under siege by Osama Bin Laden since that unfortunate day we call 9/11. After a while when under siege, being held hostage becomes the norm and it doesn’t seem quite as threatening as it did when first taken hostage by a terrorist. And, in fact, hostages are known to adjust to the subtle manipulation of the terrorist and without even realizing it the adjustment becomes the way.

Obama has gotten away with his manipulation of the media and the people for too long. As a result, the candidate hasn’t been properly vetted and in many ways, he remains a mystery to the American electorate. Americans can either remain his hostage – in particular the media – or stand up to the manipulation by overcoming fear and guilt.

That or risk tiptoeing through the next four years.

Hasn’t America been tiptoeing long enough?
