In today's New York Times an
editorial calls for a cease fire between Israel and Hamas.
Bullshit!
And particularly to one line in the Times editorial
that totally ticks me off it is so stupid:
"It is time for a cease-fire
with Hamas and 'a return to the peace negotiations that are the only real
hope for guaranteeing Israel’s long-term security.'"
Who are they kidding?...
What the NY Times and
their best and brightest pundits, along with those in our not so bright
government are saying today is that peace can be negotiated with the
Palestinians (Hamas, Fatah), the answer a two-state solution, and this is
achievable with negotiations, the only way to guarantee Israel's long-term
security.
The fallacy in this thinking is
my kind way of saying these bozos who think that they know best are either
fools or stupid; probably both.
For
sixty some odd years every effort to make peace with the Palestinians have
failed. Israel has compromised her borders, given land up that compromises
their security, and allowed the Palestinians in Gaza to attempt a first try
at self-rule, what they will have to do if rewarded for their violence with
their own state.
And the Palestinian's response is
simply to execute more violence.
Is there any question that the
Palestinians have
failed to show they are capable of successfully leading themselves? They are
thugs, street people. Even their most educated consistently choose
violence over peaceful solution. There is no evidence that this reality will
change under any conditions offered to resolve the conflict.
Now the world, and the NY Times,
wants Israel to back-off from their self-defending incursion into Gaza.
They say it is the only way to guarantee Israel's long-term
security. Ha! We've been here before, folks. Anyone care to count how many
times? Backing down has never worked and it will not work. Israel should
stay the course and finish off Hamas and then go after Fatah.
But the West wants to
broker a deal. First, every American president wants to be the one
to have ended the Israel-Palestinian conflict. That's ego. But is
asking Israel to cut a deal with the Palestinians a fair request? Would America make such a deal with Osama bin Laden?
Hardly. The leadership of the Palestinians are nothing less than Osama bin
Laden's. Fatah is the same.
Here's the change that's needed in
order to broker a peaceful solution between Israel and the Palestinians. The
world should tell the Palestinians enough. Before the Palestinians will be
rewarded with any chance for self-rule ~ their own state, which I have said I
oppose for the truly healing peaceful co-existence ~ they must accept Israel's right to exist.
They must lay down their arms. They must elect civilized leaders. They must stop training
their children to hate the Jewish people. They must end the training of their children to
kill Jews.
The West's handling
of the Israel-Palestine question has been self-serving. It has been a monumental failure because the
West comes from the place that the Israelis and the Palestinians are equal.
They are not. The Palestinians bear arms for the sole purpose of destroying
the Jews. The Israeli's raise arms in self-defense.
Moving the Palestinians to a plot
of land they will call their own is just geography. It will not stop their
hatred of the Jews and Israel. The Palestinian's hatred of the Jews has
little to do with the State of Israel.
Although Israel has given the Palestinians most
of the West Bank land, autonomy under the Palestinian Authority, and has
supplied them, the PLO's Charter still calls for the destruction of the
State of
Israel.
This
hatred will not go away. It is fundamental to who these people who
call themselves Palestinians are as Islamists. Giving them their own
state will do nothing but afford them the opportunity
to build their own army and annihilate the bane of their existence, the
Jewish people.
Of course, behind the West's thinking are geopolitical concerns. As
long as the Palestinian issue is unresolved, the United States will
be subject to the wrath of the Arabs and their chief weapon, oil.
Which is why what the West needs to do is stand behind Israel 100
percent, give the Palestinians goals to reach before anyone so much
as considers rewarding them with their own state, wean completely
from the West's dependence upon the Arab's oil, and send in the U.N.
to keep the peace while the Palestinians exhibit that they can act
like civilized people.
If the Palestinians continue to act like children, they should be treated as such. Children do
not get rewarded for bad behavior, nor should the Palestinians.
