RED, WHITE 'N TRUE
SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL

When you grew up in the 1950s and you were a boy, you were told by your father that if your friend Bob “bopped” you, you were to “bop” him back. On the other hand, if you were a girl, your mother told you to “act as a lady would” and walk away if your girlfriend treated you unkindly. The third way was to join forces with the enemy. Maybe form a gang, the victim becomes the perpetrator, and ultimately winds up in prison, more likely dead.

We have now officially entered the age of “girly” men who must have overheard their mothers telling their sisters to turn their cheeks to violence, and have adopted the less painful feminine stance.

But posture of the feminine, while possibly apropos on a schoolyard playground, has no place in the real world, a world where boys and girls are willing to strap explosives onto their backs and detonate themselves in the name of Allah, killing and mutilating the innocent for skewered beliefs. Or lobbing real bombs, like spitballs, also meant to kill or mutilate innocent people, and certainly meant to terrorize and control psychologically.

This new narrative being wrought upon the Israelis (by wusses like former President Jimmy Carter, feminista pundits such as Nicholas Kristof and all the left-wing bloggers with their wimpy ideas, but more abominably by left-wing Jews themselves) is more sympathetic with the perpetrators than the victims. They talk about things such as the absurd notion they call “proportional response,” or the “poor Palestinian people.”  Their ideas smack of mommy telling little Julie to walk away from the school yard bully, even when that bully is building an arsenal of weapons and hatred and could one day grow up to launch a nuclear bomb and annihilate its enemy in one fell swoop.

Kristof, Carter and the other leftie girly wimps represent a reactionary America. They are responding to September 11, 2001, when America lost 2740 of its citizens to the violence reaped upon it by the terrorist organization, al Qaeda, cousins of Hamas. Looking through a distorted lens, the lens of a victimized America, they are trying to see the world through the perpetrators eyes, al Qaeda, or in this case of the current Israeli military action in Palestinian controlled Gaza, Hamas.

America has to change its ways, say the political pundits. Half girly men and all members of the new gang called 'The Sympathizers with the Devil Club,' they want America to join forces with the Arabs and the Palestinians, show sympathy for the poor besotted Palestinian souls and ignore the fact that the Palestinian people are where they are today out of their own choices. This is the Patty Hearst Syndrome meets the pages of the New York Times.

Oh, those poor Palestinian citizens. Oh, yes, their elected leaders, Hamas, broke their peace agreement and started assaulting Israelis again. But, oh, the Palestinians in Gaza are hungry, and they are the victims of Israel’s blockade, even though Israel was left with no choice but to blockade in the hope they could stop the smuggling of ammunition into Gaza, which if they didn’t, would be returned to their citizens in the form of missiles.

It appears that the neo-con-job being wrought upon Americans by the inappropriate thinking of Jimmy Carter, Zbigniew Brzezinski, whacko Obama foreign policy wonk Samantha Power, the Nicholas Kristof’s of the Fourth Estate and even the left-wing Jews of America, is that Osama bin Laden would never have risen to power if America had only understood that Israel is the bad guy and the Palestinians the victims of the occupiers. It is put the blame on Israel time because maybe that will stop the terrorists from further harming Americans.

“Tough love for Israel," Kristof and others write. Tough love for a democratic country trying to protect its citizens? According to this girly way of thinking, we should have thought twice before leveling Nagasaki and Hiroshima and ending the war in the Pacific. I suppose in World War II we should have made only a measured and proportional response to Germany because, after all, it was Hitler who was at fault, not the people who allowed Hitler to come to power and followed a madman like puppy dogs as he wiped out 6,000,000 Jews.

We all know we did the right thing in stopping the Japanese and the only way to right the world was to destroy the Germans. We weren’t girly men then and we won. We were almost girly men in Iraq, but General Petraeus and, yes, George W. Bush, got it right. When the girly men and some women on Capitol Hill told them not to, Bush and Petraeus bopped al Qaeda out of Iraq.

Israel will get it right as well, as long as the girly men stay out of their way and Israel continues to refuse to have sympathy for the devil, the only path to a permanent and comprehensive peace.

There is no such thing as a deal with the devil.
