Waz Up with BO constantly dissing the 60's>>

With BO it always goes back to the 60's. He seems to have a real hate-on for the Baby Boomers. Now, in today's "Patriotism" Speech he piles on again. He's really starting to annoy me! There were some pretty good things that came out of the 60's and there are some pretty relevant Baby Boomers. So knock it off, BO. You as an African-American wouldn't be where you are today without the Boomers, who had the courage to take on the establishment and right the wrongs in American society.

Dem Operative Donna Brazile>>

crossed the line of decency during the Dem Primary season. She was a progenitor and fomenter of the lies that Bill Clinton is a racist, and was key to the illegal awarding of delegates to Mr. Obama that cost HRC the nomination. While Brazile insisted that she was neutral in the contest between BO and HRC, she was clearly and demonstrably on the side of her fellow African-American Barack Obama. The disunity in the Dem Party she doesn't seem to think exists according to her piece today (See: Headlines), is now getting uglier by the day. And the disunity is greatly the fault of Donna Brazile. So her column touting that Dem Unity Bodes Ill for John McCain is laughable. Pathetic is her reach-out (not out-reach) to the Clintons. On the other hand, it appears that Ms. Brazile along with other Dems in BO's camp are starting to realize that they might have overplayed their hands with HRC's supporters and underestimated the anger and power of these voters. As well Brazile gambled that the Clintons would be irrelevant at the end of the primary season. This turns out not to be the truth as the anger among HRC's disaffected voters only evolves into organizations like PUMA. Both Clintons, it turns out, I'm sure to Ms. Brazile's dismay, may be needed more in the next few months than originally thought. As to Brazile, it would do the Party of the Donkeys to shut her mouth. Because every time she opens it she puts her proverbial foot inside of it and only angers the disaffected more.

much talk of bclinton bashing by young obamicans  & dems going on>>

My response: A most ungracious party, the Democrats. The Clintons gave a party that had no relevance, could hardly get itself elected, a new standing in the nation. The only post World War II Democratic two-time president, many of us wouldn't mind going back to the time of Bill Clinton's presidency and enjoying some of the economic perks we all had as a result of his governance. New is always good, but America seems to think that in order to have new, we need to throw out the old. This decidedly American attitude explains the dearth of wisdom that has America at its weakest in its over two hundred years of existence. Maybe all the young voters who have latched onto the political neophyte Barack Obama might think about this. If not now, they will in time, when they find themselves perceived as old and irrelevant when they are first coming into their own.

This is more proof that BO is just another pol...if not the worst of the breed. democrats can force bo's hand>>

There is no question that in spite of HRC's best efforts, all is not unified in the House of Dems. There is only one way to unify the party and bring all of HRC's much needed supporters back into the family...make HRC VEEP. For those who want to see that happen, stand up to your guns and when polled, make it clear you will not support the candidacy of BO unless HRC is the VP. It will be hard to sit an election out, or take the choice to either write-in HRC or vote McCain. But the threat of that is the only leverage to forcing BO's hand. HRC is stumping for BO...she's a good party girl. But don't we all know that she would like to be on the ticket? Should be on the ticket! Help her become #2, don't give in.

tone deaf>>

I am a huge fan of Gov. Ed Rendell. He's a straight-shooter, as politician's go. But, Gov. Rendell, you need to listen to what HRC's supporters are saying about this "unity" crap. You, and the rest of the Dem leaders need to stop telling the supporters to "Get Over It." The words are an insult. Every time they are said, go to the web and read the reaction. It just makes these supporters take a tougher stand. So, I'm telling you, find another way. Actually, the only way ito unite the party is to put HRC on the ticket. Today on Morning Joe, you suggested Joe Biden as VEEP because you know BO ain't considering HRC. But if you all remain tone deaf and just do what you want to do to satisfy BO, you ain't bringing home HRC's supporters. So, you GET OVER IT. Admit you are wrong, Hillary's supporters are not coming home to the party without a 24 gold carrot from the party leaders.

Bill Clinton has yet to endorse bo>>

The political world is abuzz because the former Prez hasn't endorsed BO. Frankly, I'm with BC on this one. Not only did BO play the race card with BC in order to win, but he played it against a former president. Disgusting! There was no respect shown by the BO camp for the highest office in the land, oddly, the office that BO holds in such high esteem that he is seeking it. Bo crossed the line on this one, and the press let him get away with it. BC should not relent, and should treat BO with the same respect BO treated him. None!

pandering>>

Today Senator Barbara Mikulski joined Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), Patty Murray (D-Wash.), Mary Landrieu (D-La.), Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.), Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) and Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) to announce their “Checklist for Change,” a list of ten issues Congress can immediately address to improve the lives of the American people. They include: providing equal pay for equal work, keeping jobs in America, making health care affordable, taking care of our military families and veterans, restoring America’s credibility in the world, protecting our environment, making America energy independent, preparing for future disasters, enforcing fiscal accountability and protecting the family checkbook. This is a blatant pander - a “checklist” of hot button items to women, clearly with the goal to appease HRC's angry supporters. I wrote the following to each of the above...you might consider writing your own letter to them.

"Your pandering to women is appalling. You insult every women in America with your sudden concern for women's welfare. Checklist for Change, indeed. The only checklist for change you care about is to make sure people check your name on any voting list that will keep you in office -- or your cronies.

This crap that you are now spewing to entice Hillary supporters back into the Democratic fold only angers me more.

Rest assured, if I could vote against you, I would. I will vote against Barack Obama, because, yes I can."

I love how the media, who want to bury HRC for good, report that BO can't name her as his running-mate because she stands for politics as usual, which, of course, BO, even though he is now King of politics as usual, says he's not. But in floating names for the VEEP spot on his ticket, men - not women - like old Sam Nunn and, now been around forever, Joe Biden, appear at the top of the list. For sure, the BO campaign and the media must think that we're all a bunch of idiots if they think we're falling for the HRC argument they are putting out there.

ABC’s “Good Morning America” aired more of its Obama interview, and Stephanopoulos broke down new poll results. Said numbers are “closer than it should be,” noting weakness among older voters and especially married white women.

but did he answer the question>>

From the Jake Tapper ABC interview. What a hoot! A clever politician never answers a question...but a clever politician is often a very bad legislature. I'm amused that Tapper says, "I know that you have worked across the aisle." Jake, when? His one attempt with Little Mac imploded before it got started. Anyway, here's an excerpt to prove how adept BO is at not answering questions.

TAPPER:  It's not difficult to look at Senator McCain's record and see examples of times when he reached across the partisan divide at great political risk to himself:  immigration reform, Gang of 14, campaign finance reform.  I know that you have worked across the aisle.

OBAMA:  Absolutely. [When?]

TAPPER:  But have you ever worked across the aisle in such a way that entailed a political risk for yourself?

OBAMA:  Well, look, when I was doing ethics reform legislation [across the aisle?], for example, that wasn't popular with Democrats or Republicans.  So any time that you actually try to get something done in Washington [the particular legislation?], it entails some political risks. But I think the basic principle which you pointed out is that I have consistently said, when it comes to solving problems, like nuclear proliferation or reducing the influence of lobbyists in Washington, that I don't approach this from a partisan or ideological perspective. [he asked have you worked across the aisle so that you felt you were at political risk] And the same is true when it comes to the economy.[what?]  The same is true when it comes to national security.  You know, this administration, the Bush administration, has made, for example, the war on terror into a sharply partisan issue.[were you put at political risk?] But the truth is, is that I admire some of the foreign policy of George Bush's father. [For gosh sakes, answer the darn question] And I've said so before.  I think that there's a tradition of us working together to make sure that we are dealing with the threats that are out there and that we are building a consensus here in the United States.  That's the kind of approach I intend to take when I'm president of the United States.[Yes, the approach of ask me no questions, I'll just tell you lies!)

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll bet America listened to the interview and thought that BO was just brilliant. Gimme a break!

In fact, it seems to me that they downright did everything to destroy Bill Clinton's future as well as his legacy. It will be interesting to see how he handles it. If he elects not to contribute, could such a decision hurt Hillary? Or maybe he deems it time to leave the political arena for good and let Hillary stand on her own for her future endeavors. Such a position would give BC political cover. He resurrected his tarnished reputation once but can he do it twice?

jesse jackson makes the case for hrc for vp>>

"While clearly the choice of a running mate is his and that right should be honored, I thought she made a powerful case for her eligibility," Jackson said in a phone interview with The Associated Press.

"As he surveys the field, it must be someone who is compatible with him philosophically, someone who is loyal to his agenda and someone who brings a constituency that matters and the capacity to become the next president, as the Constitution requires should disaster strike," Jackson said.

Clinton meets those requirements, Jackson said. "She may not be the only one who does, but she certainly does," he said.

This is the first African-American leader in BO's camp to make such a statement.

THIS ON OBAMA's website: change we can't believe in>>

How the Jewish Lobby Works:
By Juan Carlos from Knoxville, TN - Jun 7th, 2008 at 9:13 pm EDT.
Also listed in Tennessee Action Team Tennessee for Obama '08

The story is linked to:: REAL JEW NEWS

HOW CAN WE STOP THE JEWISH LOBBY?

Here are 3 options:

1) Commit suicide.

2) Write to your Senator warning him that taking bribes from Jews is a sin.

3) Never vote again.

OR:
+ Pray To The Lord Jesus Christ To Either Convert The Jews Or Conquer Them Through The Power Of His Cross!

AND THIS:

NO LOBBY IS FEARED MORE
or catered to by politicians than the Jewish Lobby. If a politician does not play ball with the Jewish Lobby, he will not get elected, or re-elected, and he will either be smeared or ignored by the Jewish-owned major media.

All Jewish lobbies and organizations are interconnected and there are hundreds upon hundreds of them. The leaders of the numerous Jewish Lobby Groups go to the same synagogues, country clubs, and share the same Jewish investment bankers. And this inter-connectedness extends to the Jews who run the Federal Reserve Bank, US Homeland Security, and the US State Department.

In other words, “Jews stick together.” Americans must know how extremely powerful the Jewish Lobby is and how it operates to undermine America’s interests both at home and abroad. At home - by corrupting America’s political system, and abroad - by dictating American Foreign Policy against America’s best interests.

There's plenty more offensive material where this came from: The Barack Obama website.

msnbc/nbc just can't help themselves>>

This from NBC's Jim Popkin: "That’s right, when Clinton officially drops out of the race tomorrow, thousands of donors who contributed to her general-election war chest soon will be entitled to a refund. Under federal election law, Sen. Clinton must either refund the donations or, within 60 days, must write to each general-election donor requesting their permission to use the funds for her future Senate or (gasp) perhaps presidential campaigns."

NBC's biased reporting continues..."gasp" at a Hillary Clinton future presidential run? Thanks for putting the exclamation point on your network's bias as Hillary Clinton gracefully exits. This is only proof that she didn't lose; that the media and the party simply stole it from her.

Now we find out that the Party and BO realize this is true and he has announced that his first campaigning as the Party's nominee will indeed be through those swing states where he hopes to court those voters, particularly in Appalachia. Need I say more? OK, I will, the Democrack-up Party is alive and kicking, now through Appalachia. LOL!

bo's second lie since  being crowned>>

As I said yesterday, I'll be watching BO's every move. So yesterday, his campaign dangled the news that BO wouldn't be accepting federal funding, going back on his promise to do so before his coronation and thus, his first lie.

Now in front of AIPAC, Wednesday, he got everyone excited when he said he would back Jerusalem as Israel's undivided capital. Of course, this issue has been a big sticking point in the negotiations between the Israeli's and the Palestinians.

Now, before the week is out, BO is backtracking on his statement in front of the powerful Israel lobby. He has amended his support for Israel's stance on Jerusalem on Thursday, by saying Palestinians and Israelis had to negotiate the future of the holy city.

Rest assured, BO knew exactly what he was saying when he said it in front of AIPAC. He told the influential group what they wanted to hear because he needs their vote in Nov. However, the fact is that what he said standing before AIPAC is not his true position. He was, has been and unless something changes will always be pro-Palestinian. I hope that Jewish voters and AIPAC are paying attention to the way BO plays. The man is no friend of Israel, nor is anyone on his foreign policy team.

bo the great intimidator? >>

From Roll Call...

.. .. (Joe)Lieberman participated in a media conference call organized by House Chief Deputy Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) to criticize Obama’s Middle East policy. Lieberman is a staunch supporter of Israel, and Republicans aim to make inroads into traditionally Democratic Jewish voters by suggesting that their presumptive nominee, Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), is a stronger Israel supporter.

Lieberman’s criticism came in response to Obama’s speech before the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, where he pledged support to the Jewish state. It was his first major address after claiming his party’s nomination late Tuesday night. Lieberman harshly criticized Obama’s speech and his broader foreign policy stance, particularly on Iran and his opposition to legislation listing the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist group. Lieberman and Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) sponsored that bill. ... ..

... .. But the incident appeared to have an effect on Obama. During a Senate vote Wednesday, Obama dragged Lieberman by the hand to a far corner of the Senate chamber and engaged in an intense three-minute conversation.

While it was unclear what the two were discussing, Obama literally backed up Lieberman against the wall, leaned in close and appeared to be trying to dominate the conversation, as the two talked over each other in a few instances.

Still, Obama and Lieberman seemed to be trying to keep the back-and-forth congenial as they both patted each other on the back during and after the exchange.

than first thought. It looks like they want the Clinton's finished 4-EVER. Equally, the press seems unrelentless towards HRC even in her defeat. Where things stand today, I don't think she has a chance at 2012 or any other year. It looks like it's back to the Senate for her, where she will remain a lowly junior Senator with only the smallest chance of building a powerbase similar to that Ted Kennedy built. I know, I don't sound optimistic for her future, but never can I remember a party treating a losing candidate this badly. By the way, her no. one enemy seems to be her old friend, Ed Rendell, who is pummeling her with his talk. What's up with that?

to ej dionne's hrcj criticism >>

Once again, Mr. Dionne, you miss the point of Hillary's Tuesday speech. But men never seem to understand the subtlety in a women's actions (not a sexist statement, just a nod to biology). The problem that Barack Obama has is that he has consistently overplayed his hand in trying to win the nomination and in terms of his treatment of the Clinton's. So that although he won the party's nomination, in destroying the Clinton machine, he left Hillary in that wonderful place called, "I have nothing to lose." That makes Hillary far more dangerous to him than John McCain or the Republican slime machine. She was warning him and the Party Tuesday night, that she doesn't have to play by the rules anymore, and certainly not his rules. She is all those voters standing behind her and she can bring them to Obama, or not. Whatever she wants, he had better give her because he can't win without her. Frankly, it's doubtful she really wants the veep slot, but it works for her to make it look like she does so that when he doesn't give it to her, he doubly angers her supporters and he doesn't get them. Remember, she's looking to 2012. On the other hand, Saturday she will concede having made her point that she can impede his thunder, and for now, at least, she'll play the game. But again, she showed him Tuesday night that he needs her more than she needs him. And I wonder if at the end of the day BO is the president if he wants HRC in the Senate rebuilding a centrist coalition standing in the way of his every move.

ON HILLARY's Conceding>>

I'm disappointed to hear that HRC is conceding Friday and not taking the fight over the disenfranchised votes to the convention. I hope in her  speech HRC does not ask all of us who have supported her to support BO. It would be rude. Clinton has chosen the party over her supporters but many of us are independents who chose to support her over the neophyte Obama. It would be an insult to ask us to support a candidate we deemed wrong for the job because HRC is  a party person who want the Dems to win. If in the unlikely event she is on the ticket with Obama, I would vote for her. If she's not on the ticket I will either vote McCain, or write  in HRC.

of like minds>>
I see that Craig Crawford is inline with my thinking on what he calls a "McClinton" ticket. He also has a diary on why Clinton is playing things as she is. Does she want a high-profile rejection by Obama of her being his running-mate? If he rejects her, she has an excuse to campaigning for him. And such a rejection would further alienate her supporters and help elect McCain. Very passive-aggressive thinking on Crawford's part, and, if true, on HRC's, too.

with Hillary's supporters. They despise her and want her out of her leadership role. They tell me they feel she has accomplished nothing as Speaker of the House. They find her rude, abrasive, power-hungry and completely out-of-touch with the needs and wants of women, and the other Hillary supporters. Today she declared Obama the nominee and had some gracious words for the former first lady. But she had better find more ways to ingratiate herself with Hillary's supporters. They are looking for someone to blame, and Pelosi is at the head of the list, although Donna Brazile is running pretty close in the blame for Hillary's loss.  LINK

more on my column today>>

There are many who are unhappy with HRC's speech last night. They say she left her supporters empty because she did not end her candidacy. I totally disagree that she left her supporters empty. Instead, she empowered her supporters, gave them a voice by saying tell me what you think. When has a candidate done that before?

One of the many problems with our politics today is that that is what it is...politics. We expect people to act according to a pre-conceived model of political expectation.

This is how we got to the point where we are in American politics...what is good for the party is good for the people.

Well, that is not what the founders of our country meant to have happen. That is what happened in England, and that's why people came to America. What is good for the people should be good for the party. The people are the party, not the other way around.

I don't see Clinton as posturing. She built a base, fully half of those who voted in this contest, and she is going to respect those voters...whether you, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid Howard Dean, all those partisans, like it or not.

that pesky little tape of michelle obama's rant>>

According to HillBuzz.blogspot.com :

Here's what's known so far:

The Michelle Obama Rant Tape was filmed between June 26th - July 1st 2004 in Chicago, IL at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Conference at Trinity United Church: specifically the Women's Event.

Michelle Obama appeared as a panelist alongside Mrs. Khadijah Farrakhan and Mrs. James Meeks.

Bill Clinton spoke during the Conference, as did Bill Cosby and other speakers, but not at the panel Michelle attended.

Michelle Obama spoke at the Women's Event, but referenced Bill Clinton in her rant --- his presence at the conference was the impetus for her raving, it seems.

For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on "whitey", and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America. Her rant was fueled by the crowd: they reacted strongly to what she said, so she got more passionate and enraged, and that's when she completely loses it and says things that have made the mouths drop of everyone who's seen this.

The "tape" is a DVD that Trinity United sold on its website, and possibly offered free for download up until March 2008 when Trinity's site was scrubbed and the DVDs were no longer offered for sale.

This outburst happened just one month before the 2004 Democratic Convention, when Barack Obama delivered the keynote address.

Our good friend Larry Johnson over at NoQuarter has been talking about this tape for some time. Everyone wants to know if the tape was so widely available through Trinity than why is it so hard to come by. Larry's answer: "Patience."

Until it surfaces, we have no other choice but to be patient.

Thank you S.D.

Congratulates Obama and supporters on extraordinary race they have run. Our party and democracy is stronger for it.

It is an honor to have run with him and to call him my friend.

16 months ago you and i began a journey to remake America, lists geographic parts of America. [More...]

I am enormously grateful to those who came out because you asked yourselves who will be the best candidate, who is ready to lead our country.

Everyone had a chance to vote. Nearly 18 million of you cast your vote for our campaign. We carried the popular vote with more votes than any candidate in presidential history. We won together the swing states necessary to get to 270 electoral votes.

You wanted a leader who will stand up for our values, a country who will count every single vote.

While this primary was long I am so proud we stayed the course together.

Because we stood our ground every citizen had a chance to vote, a record 35 million people.

I am committed to working to take back the White House in November.

None of you are invisible to me. I will keep standing for you and working for you.

People are asking: What does Hillary want. I want what I've always worked for: to end the war, turn the economy around, health care for everyone and I want the 18 million who voted for me to be respected and no longer treated as invisible.

I have an old-fashioned notion that public service is about helping people. This nation has given me every opportunity and I want it for every American.

I want to restore America's leadership in the world.

People are shouting Denver.

There were days when I had the energy to fight for all of us and when I didn't I leaned on you.

So many people said this race was over months ago and you brought me back every time.

I will carry your stories with me.

Where do we go from here? This has been a long campaign and I will be making no decisions tonight.

But, this has always been your campaign, so to the 18 million who voted for me, I want to hear from you. Go to HillaryClinton.com and tell me.

I will be meeting with party leaders and supporters and determining the best way to proceed.

More thanks to everyone. I am honored and humbled by your support.

"Obama can win without her, but he can't lose with her," Davis said, noting Clinton on the ticket would help the Democratic party win women and Hispanic voters in particular.

Davis served as special counsel during the Clinton administration.

But, oh, no, the Obamanuts are trying to humiliate HRC and the Party is completely insensitive to Hillary's feelings. Of course, they think it's all about them and their positions and security in their positions. I can't say it enough...every time it is perceived that HRC is either being pushed out of the race or in any way humiliated, that is one more Clinton supporter that won't back Obama in the GE. LINK

cardinal removes pfleger from st. sabina parish>>

The lunatic Father Pfleger has been removed from his parish following his scathing remarks in front of Trinity and his own church specifically pointed at Senator Clinton. Why did it take the Cardinal only a week to do what it took Obama months to do? Was the Cardinal more sincere than Obama? LINK

continues running erroneous headline from AP story. They all must be worried about the numbers in South Dakota and are trying to suppress votes. Ironically, Arianna's post, sitting right next to the dishonest headline on her website  talks about keeping the news media honest in covering McCain. HYPOCRITE!

Just got off a conference call with President Clinton>>

The Clinton campaign thinks it is possible to pull off S. Dakota. A campaign spokesperson says now they are fighting  the media and the networks but reminds all that it would be an upset for HRC to pull off S. Dakota. You can all get on the phone and make calls for the campaign. Just go to HillaryClinton.com and start making calls. You can call till 10 tonight est. And, of course, all day tomorrow.

james clyburn endorses bo>>

We all knew whose candidacy Rep. James E. Clyburn of South Carolina supported despite his claims of neutrality. But Clyburn's endorsement today  of BO is further proof that any statements he made during the campaign under the guise of neutrality, were anything but. So, that when Clyburn played the race card and began the rap that the Clinton's were racist, he was really doing the bidding of Senator Obama. This is not  something to forget. This is a disgusting aspect of this campaign that all Hillary supporters should remember. Barack Obama allowed this accusation to be promulgated by his surrogates, and there was no more disreputable surrogate than James Clyburn.

last minute digs>>

by the Obama campaign? the news media? HRC needs a big win in S. Dakota tomorrow in order to secure the popular vote. Is that why the Obama camp and the news media are issuing all these reports about Clinton conceding now, to suppress voter turnout? Surely the last thing Stinky needs is to lose either contest tomorrow night, or not to win big. But, what happened to a little respect for the loser? Yeah, right.

here is what larry johnson is reporting>>

"I learned over the weekend why the Republicans who have seen the tape of Michelle Obama ranting about “whitey” describe it as “STUNNING.” I have not seen it but I have heard from five separate sources who have spoken directly with people who have seen the tape. It features Michelle Obama and Louis Farrakhan. They are sitting on a panel at Jeremiah Wright’s Church when Michelle makes her intemperate remarks."

For months the rumors of a tape with Michelle Obama referring to Whites as "whitey" have been circulating. Larry Johnson, whose website No Quarter has been a staunch supporter of Hillary has been pressing this rumor for month. Over the weekend he announced on his website that he would be announcing a big story on this Michelle Obama rumor. Frankly, this is disappointing. What Johnson reveals is simply more rumor, and until such a tape is revealed, none of this is important. Innuendo and allegation do not amount to fact and will not sway superdelegates.

So somebody produce those tapes or stop talking about it. It hurtS HRC more than helps HRC to have this kind of innuendo going on.

did terry McAuliffe say on morning joe>>

"let's END on a high note? Did Mika B. ignore his final statement? Yes, the silly girl did. You can be sure the Clinton camp is going to make it look like they're going forward until after the vote in order to make sure that in Montana and South Dakota they don't lose the voters to apathy because their goal is to rack up the popular votes.

Clinton takes Puerto Rico, BIG TIME! Are you paying attention, Super Delegates? Blue-collar, woman, Hispanics... just the core of the Dem party. Not important, Wright?! Exit polls suggest HRC swept Sen. Barack Obama in every major demographic group, including groups he generally does well in, such as younger voters and higher income voters, exit polls suggest.
