did the clinton's pressure on bo work?>>

BO is feeling the heat enough to call a press gaggle, which he hasn't been doing, and tries to tamp down the Clinton feud rhetoric going so far as to defend BC in his recent interview with Kate Snow. Apparently, BO is starting to get it, that the Clintons' have more power than he realized, and can make him or break him still. Let's see what it was the Clintons' were fighting for. We'll know when we see what they got out of BO at the convention.

that troublemaker chuck todd>>

Never has there been a newsperson working so hard to get ahead -- at the expense of the Democratic Party. Todd is now taking the role of the late Tim Russert in seeing all things Obama.Because it suits his agenda to climb to the top of the NBC roster, he has continuously pitted both sides against the other. On Morning Joe, this am, Todd said that the "feeling in Chicago," obviously referring to the Obama campaign, is that Hillary Clinton is seeking treatment that she would never have given BO if the roles were reversed. WHATTTTT????He then went on to say that the last few days have given BO the "high ground" in how he treats the Clinton camp now. Gimme a break! That's just troublemaking doo doo. Last night the campaigns issued a joint statement: "We are working together to make sure the fall campaign and the convention are a success. At the Democratic Convention, we will ensure that the voices of everyone who participated in this historic process are respected and our party will be fully unified heading into the November election." OK, they're trying to. but there is no doubt in my mind that it remains BO's responsibility as the winner to do WHATEVER it takes to make Hillary and her supporters happy in order to unify the party...not HRC's. After all, if he doesn't unify the party it will be his price to pay. Hillary already paid hers.

barack obama is no party leader>>

The following article from ABC News should be read with utter disgust. And where the Democrack up Party is now is totally the fault of its new anointed leader-NOT, Barack Obama. BO's behavior toward fully half of the people who voted in the primaries is unconscionable, and frankly, I think it is too late for him to do anything to soothe the hurt of HRC's supporters. The question remains for BO, what have you done for Hillary Clinton lately? The answer is nada. Her supporters know it and it is going to be one heck of a convention. Barack Obama a divider not a uniter.  LINK

question: If bo is so tone-deaf to the needs of Democrat's those who are hillary supporters>>

you have to wonder how he would treat the rest of the nation not in line with him. this as more speculation surfaces concerning whether HRC should be the keynote speaker at the convention, have her name put in for nomination and what she will say 2morrow during her e-chat.

But here's another thought...with BO's numbers stuck, imagine the bounce he'd get if he named her his VEEP...a bounce that would be so huge, he wouldn't come down from there and could go on to move ahead. Don't tell me he'd get that kind of bounce with any of the names he's floating for VEEP. Gee, for someone they say is such a smart guy...well...he doesn't seem so smart to be...just smug.

if you have a problems with nancy pelosi>>

than you have one with Barack Obama. Pelosi has done everything to stop a vote on off-shore drilling that she can. Why? An energy vote could hurt the Dem party's presumptuous nominee. This is outrageous! Today BO called "this addiction is one of the most dangerous and urgent threats this nation has ever faced." And yet, he has allowed Pelosi to stop all energy solutions from coming to a vote for political reasons. So the question becomes, what kind of new politics is BO offering? It sounds like the old politics as usual to me. Congress has gone on their August vacation. American's should be screaming to them: Get back to Washington or don't get re-elected. LINK

from bo's audacity knows no bounds>>

I find this OUTRAGEOUS and you should, too. BO has asked the credentials committee to award all the delegates from Florida and Michigan. Do you remember that he wouldn't do that during the primary because HRC won both states, and he was more interested in ensuring his win than in making the people of those good states who voted have their voices count. Now that he is the presumptive nominee, he has, no great surprise, changed his tune. Of course, the credentials committee will grant his wish...he is, after all their anointed presumptive nominee, if not the real winner of the primary. Stay tuned. This will likely cause an uproar by HRC's diehard supporters...and rightfully so.

on the issue of pundits using blurbs that serve their purpose>>

Sam Stein over at HuffPost uses David Gergen's a.m. interview in which he said that he took umbrage with John McCain's recent attack ads, charging that the Senator was using coded messaging to paint Barack Obama as "outside the mainstream" and "uppity" to make a strike at MAC. But Gergen had other things to say that Stein didn't mention as it didn't serve him to do so. So, Mr. Stein, since you seem to hold David Gergen in such high esteem consider that he also said he felt that Obama NEEDS Hillary Clinton to win and should pick her as his VP. I guess you'll be pushing for HRC as Obama's VP in your next posting.

By the way, as to the "code words" -- I wonder whether people from the south aren't more sensitive to these issues? It seems to me that they are.

"We'll respond if "Democrats" use racism again. Well, MAC is clearly not going to take any crap about that. High time someone stood up to the true low in this presidential campaign, the one coming from the side with the black candidate. Democrats, can do better...or can't they?

the hillary factor>>

The issue continues to fester. Question: Are those who refuse to back Obama zealots or reasoned voters? Here's my take: Those who say all HRC supporters who won't back Obama are crazy and they lump all Hillary supporters into one category are wrong.

I suggest that not all who choose not to vote for Obama are Hillary zealots who refuse to
"get over it." Some are reasoned voters who don't find Obama palatable. It is possible to favor
the ideology of a candidate and yet not think the candidate has the credentials to implement
policy. And since no one party has the absolute answers, it is possible to support someone like
McCain who represents not only the middle-of-the-road but experience as well.

An all or nothing approach is what has this country so polarized, and is what has caused the
schism in the Democratic Party. And, by the way, since Obama has allowed this all to fester, I
say it doesn't inspire me to think that he can defuse rancor in the future.

hrc's decision not to be placed in nomination>>

HRC rolling over for Obama yet again is not necessarily classy, but might be considered by some as a typical Hillary Clinton capitulation to a man. Obama has not met HRC even halfway since he was anointed the party presumptive nominee. HRC did earn some gravitas during the primary. Is she giving her power away? Should she be ignoring the wants of those who supported her those that donated to her campaign their hard-earned money and agonized at her loss? What is she giving them? Or is playing by the rules for her personal gain more important than the feelings of her constituents? Just asking.

I'll give this to mac Part 2>>

This is too sad. All during the primaries, whenever anybody dared to cross Obama, out of his campaign came the claim, "they're a racist." They spared no one, including a former President of the United States who did more for the African-American community than any president since Lincoln. No one said a word; the press bought the charges. In the Obama wake is also Geraldine Ferraro...and the list goes on and on. Now, here we go again, a story getting traction has to be stopped and what does the Obama camp do to get the charge of hubris and celebrity off the radar? They cry racism. And it works, as now we'll be labeling John McCain a racist for telling the truths: (1) Obama's celebrity is what has gotten him where he is (2) his ego knows no bounds. So, say what you will about John McCain, at least he has the courage to state the truth. OK, and maybe he's desperate. Nevertheless, what he says is true. JUST NEEDED TO SAY IT AGAIN.

Is BO afraid of hrc>>

Is it possible that BO is actually afraid of HRC? I'm beginning to think he's afraid of strong women. He seems to surround himself with "girlie-girls," the soft-spoken Pelosi, the lispy Claire MacCaskill. For all the hype of Michelle being a strong, independent woman, she seems to have chosen a more traditional role as wife and mother and abandoned true militancy. I was always amused to watch HRC and BO spar in the debates. Despite his tall and lanky structure he always seemed dwarfed against HRC. Apparently, his grandmother is a very strong woman who was the key breadwinner in her marriage and was the woman who took control of her grandson's life when his confused and I will go wherever I must to be with a man weak mother ran off to be with a man. It was the very same strong grandmother that BO threw under the bus when he made his speech on race. My point is that HRC could only be BO's Veep if polls leave him absolutely no other choice. And she won't be in his cabinet either. Look for the more manipulative type women to be a part of his administration. All, which, by the way, tells me that BO is one insecure man.

Bloomberg, Schwarzenegger and Ed Rendell urged both the Republican and Democratic national committees to adopt pro-infrastructure planks in their party platforms.

“America’s highways, bridges, tunnels, and mass transit have fallen behind. The same is true for our levees, schools, ports, courthouses and water delivery systems. Our economy and environment are suffering because we cannot move goods and people efficiently – we need a strong federal commitment to tackle this problem,” said Governor Schwarzenegger. “We have always come together as a nation to solve our biggest problems and I am confident that if both parties make infrastructure a top priority we will rebuild America with the pride and ambition that reflects the unlimited potential of our people.”

“The principles we are advocating will help our nation be more competitive in the global economy, ensure our environmental sustainability, enhance our citizens’ quality of life and improve public safety,” said Mayor Bloomberg.  “They are good public policy and make sound business sense.  We need to invest more in our infrastructure and those investment decisions need to be based on merit, not politics.”
