My Two Sense

U.S. PULLING OUT OF RACISM CONFERENCE

Has the pushback against the anti-Israel tactics being forged by the Obama team by influential Jews in the last 24-hours had an effect? It appears like it has. The U.S. is pulling out of the racist Durbin II Conference, the administration announced to said leaders in a conference call today. LINK

OBAMA MADE COURTESY CALL

President Obama called George W. Bush moments before he made his announcement of his plans to withdraw American troops from Bush's War. He also called Iraqi PM Nuri Al-Maliki.

OBAMA'S PUNT ON IRAQ WITHDRAWAL

Today's announcement on the proposed withdrawal from Iraq seems anti-climatic in the wake of the success of the surge. That being said, on this score President Obama has made the correct step in his proposal. The left gets their announcement, but cooler heads prevailed. The withdrawal will be appropriately measured to deal with the situation on the ground. It's amazing when a president gets a briefing, how quickly a candidate's rhetoric changes.

 PLEASE

Two aging ex-hippies, but not quite ex-terrorists, Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn are traveling the speaker circuit out to 'clean up' their image, but continuing to sell their revolutionary ways, capitalizing on their erstwhile association with the president. Really, the president needs to issue a statement condemning these two. Radical cannot be considered chic no matter how it's clothed. These unrepentant murderers who on a technicality got off from doing time for their sins, are hardly role models for young people.

SECRETARY OF STATE CLINTON IN TROUBLE WITH JEWS

Influential members of the American Jewish community are tearing into Hillary Clinton for her warning to Israel not to stand in the way of Gaza relief, and rightfully so. The question is, is this Hillary Clinton's position, or is she acting for the president? Of course, it's the same as Clinton made her deal with the devil. This isn't a pretty start for Clinton, or Obama, as I've been saying for weeks. I think Rham Emanuel needs to weigh in on this. And I hope the Jewish Community will only shout louder against the position of the Obama Administration, which is to sell out Israel while Obama and Clinton set themselves up to win the Nobel Prize for Peace -- at Israel's expense. Here's what Mort Zuckerman and others have to say about Mrs. Clinton. LINK

Now you've been warned, Hillary Clinton

BLACK ENTERTAINMENT

Beyonce Knowles, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, The Chicago Bulls, what, is there no White talent left in America? Not much, according to our president, which is why his entertainment list seems curiously free of white, Hispanic or other faces that make up the kaleidoscope of culture that is America. I'm just sayin', even though I'd die to have been there last night when the First Couple hosted a soiree for Stevie Wonder, which, thank goodness, will be televised tonight on PBS. QUESTION:

Question: What would the Republican Party be without Rush Limbaugh? My answer: Better off. The guy is a raving lunatic whose time has come and gone. He's holding his own party hostage to his he-used-to-be-entertaining-but-now-he's-just-an-old-partisan-hack-with-no-new-ideas. Frankly, I think the country would be better off without Rush Limpbaugh Limbaugh. Since his reign over the Conservative Movement, the GOP has turned into the Evil-doers. Not that I'm into telling the Republican Party what to do, which I am today, hey, ya'll: You've got an image problem and it starts with Limpbaugh. Get rid of him. Don't you get it? This is the era of Kumbaya, not obstructionism. And besides, I am just soooooooooo tired of listening to him. Rush, you are just so annoying! Go away! UPDATE:  Apparently, I am not alone in my dislike of Limpbaugh. His numbers with the women demographic aren't good. So, yesterday he held a summit to try and find out, and get women to listen to him, even tho' he's an idiot, a sexist pig, a pompous ass, blah, blah, blah. If you're interested, here's the link. LINK UPDATE: Get this, The American Conservative agrees with me. This is a RED LETTER DAY! LINK

GROPERS & INTERLOPERS

The G & L Party (aka GOP) is at it again, now turning to talk of a 'spending freeze.' Clearly, they are groping for that button that will give them back their power. But they are appearing pathetic as they struggle for power rather than joining the league of Americans who told them in the last election, Hey bozos, it's not about power; it's about the people. But this shameless talk of a 'spending freeze' in the wake of the economic tsunami affecting America is more than pathetic. It is dangerous to the country's welfare and politics at its worst. I guess that's what happens when a party hasn't true leaders.

INTERESTING FROM SEN. BYRD

Sen. Byrd, ever the constitutional scholar, is taking issue with his own Democratic Party president over the president's appointment of 'czars' to oversee the execution of his policies. While interesting in the legal sense, I think Sen. Byrd overlooks the purpose of President Obama's appointments. Our government doesn't work, and part of the problem may be in the lack of oversight. While secretaries of departments are overseeing the big picture, in these times we need, clearly, day to day overseers. Sen. Byrd has given the president a heads-up not to cross the line in defiance of the Constitution. But Sen. Byrd needs to be mindful of these changing, extraordinary times, as well as admit that the government does not perform to its maximum potential. LINK

SHOOTING THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT

Come on, my Republican friends. Stop being stupid. First one of yours announces Justice Ginsburg is going to die from pancreatic cancer within the year, argh! And then another GOPer doubts the President's citizenship. You boycott the vote on the Stimulus Bill and your websites are filled with nothing but nasty about all things pushed by the Administration. Is this really the way that you want to go? Or would it serve you better to out-saccharine the Obama Administration, put the people before the party. You're looking like the ogres to the people who count, the voters. Don't bank on your corporations to pull you through in the future. The Democrats are changing corporate America as we know it.

Trust me, you will get more with sugar than you will with vinegar. In other words, it's time to change your tune. I'm just saying...

ABSURD

Transportation Sec'y Ray LaHood is proposing a la la idea, a concept to further drive Americans crazy. In lieu of a gasoline tax, tax the amount of miles people drive. Of course, built into this la-diculous idea is that those who live in rural areas where to get anywhere is always a longer trek than if you live in urban areas, would bear an unfair burden. There are many other problems with the idea, lack of privacy (a GPS system would keep track of your miles) comes to mind. Meanwhile, one of my arguments against the Stimulus Bill is that the money being put into rebuilding roads will only encourage the use of automobiles rather than encourage Americans use of alternative transportation. The highway reconstruction would have been better spent building high-speed rail service as extensively as Eisenhower built the interstate road system in the 50s.

ALLEDGED MCCAIN LOVER SETTLES WITH NY TIMES

Vicki Iseman has dropped her lawsuit against the New York Times, but the deal apparently included that the paper publish the following:

"An article published on Feb. 21, 2008, about Senator John McCain and his record as an ethics reformer who was at times blind to potential conflicts of interest included references to Vicki Iseman, a Washington lobbyist. The article did not state, and The Times did not intend to conclude, that Ms. Iseman had engaged in a romantic affair with Senator McCain or an unethical relationship on behalf of her clients in breach of the public trust."

AG HOLDER'S WONDERFUL CANDOR

It's Black History Month and AG Eric Holder gave the speech of his life calling Americans "cowards" for being unwilling to openly discuss existing racial issues. Yea! He couldn't be more right. We must not be afraid to discuss these issues, seriously, or for that matter, in a fun way. We continue to tiptoe through the tulips around this issue and too many others. It's in the naming that we can solve our issues. LINK

IT'S OFFICIAL

That polarizing (code for bitch) fool, at least in the eyes of Hillary Clinton's detractors, is officially dead as she makes her inaugural debut as America's Ambassador to the World. Think about how funny that is, that the woman demonized as the most offensive of all women is now the world's chief diplomat. Just goes to show you how screwed up the press is these days. Anyway, here is Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in all her glory, looking mah-ve-lous darling, arriving in Indonesia, spreading the word that America doesn't hate ALL Muslims, just those who like to fly planes into our towers and burn Americans to death. It's funny, I was thinking how surprised Pres. Obama must have been when he got to know the real Hillary, and not the one so demonized by her enemies for strictly ideological reasons. Rest assured the right won't give up. Read this LINK and note the attack on Clinton, not Pres. Obama. Hillary's gained too much power for the right to let go unchecked. But they are careful of attacking a popular president. Politics, as usual, from the Republicans.

THE BLAME GAME

Here we go, the game is on. Who is to blame for the economic meltdown? Alan Greenspan, Robert Rubin, Bill Clinton, the Wall Street Gang, the American people? The list is long. Yet missing from the list is the real culprit...the local banker. Ever meet him or her? The pompous, pontificating, power-hungry community big-wig whose ass you have to kiss to get to get your dollars. He's lowman on the totem pole of the big banks, and he controls too many dollars without the necessary smarts. He lends often based on cronyism, not innovation, the idea completely alien to the small town boss. He/she is symbolic of all that is wrong with America, long on debt and short on creative answers to get the country out of the hole it has fallen into. Lest you think this theory doesn't apply in this world of the big banks, the Bank of Americas, the BB&T's, The Wachovia's, remember, they are still run on the local level by the same idiots who ran them before.

As to the cooperate bigwigs in control, they failed the country for different reasons. They were so busy making deals that they forgot the bottom-line is predicated on the truth that America's engine is fueled by Mom and Pop America. This country's economic train has gone array because we've forgotten entrepreneurship. Individuality is no longer celebrated in our schools (Arne Duncan, HELP!), and surely not in the workplace, the exception the field of high tech where a new idea can make billions for the banks, no longer satisfied with making thousands.

Dollar after dollar can be thrown at the failing banks, Detroit, whomever, it will be an insufficient Band-Aid on the ailing economy until Washington addresses the pitiful reality that America's real illness is a banking structure riff with brain-dead, myopic, power-hungry, money-grubbing fools who see themselves as omnipotent, when the are really our country's devils. For corporate gain they preyed on the vulnerabilities of Americans, rich and poor alike, the system doomed to failure because corporate mentality is antithetical to individuality, the very characteristic that fueled this country.

Question: Why is Washington giving money to the same idiots who created this mess? Why aren't the purveyors of these bad deeds being forced to stepdown from their positions? The blame game is only useful if it is used to correct past mistakes.

Here is President Obama's plan to help the victims of the self-serving pigs who have been controlling this country for too long. LINK And here is what the banks are doing with your money-NOT! LINK To better understand read this: LINK

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING

Dick Morris and Eileen Gann (his wife) are out to get the Clintons. And since Rahm Emanuel is a 'Clintonite' they are now out to get him. In a ridiculous piece in the NY Post today, Morris and Gann try and make hay out of the fact that Emanuel lived rent-free in the basement of his friends home when in DC. His friends are Stan Greenberg (the pollster) and Rep. Rosa de Lauro. Emanuel's wife and young children continued to live in Chicago, and Emanuel was in DC only when necessary. No story here, just fodder. Morris goes on about other stuff he calls conflicts of interest. He says that Emanuel wasn't properly vetted. But even Morris, after all is said and accused admits that the president's Chief of Staff isn't subject to Senate confirmation.

Morris has always been an annoying character, a pain in the arse who has spent the last years railing after all things Clinton and anyone within their inner-circle. It would be great if Morris, who is no dummy, would put his mind and pen to better use. His singular focus is getting O so booooooorrrrriing!

SCARY

More and more the pack rats of Obama journalists are not commenting on the presidency of Barack Obama, but instead conveying the message of Barack Obama, planted by the president in arranged press interviews with handpicked reporters, the inside the media Obama plants. This neither serves the president or the American people. Such is the column in The New York Times by Bob Herbert, the result of the media's Obama groupies, an ode to the wonder that is Barack Obama. Shame. LINK

UPDATE: Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post, another Obama groupie, builds the Obama shrine. But he does so at the President's peril. O please, Mr. Robinson. You make President Obama out to be something different. He's the President of the United States, Chief Executive Officer of The Treasury, The State Department, The Commerce Department blah, blah, blah, just like every other president. Be careful of putting him on a pedestal. Once up there, there's only one place to go...DOWN. LINK
